Your presence is required more than your presents

Ever been with your kids and your mind is a million miles away?
Of course, we all have.
We all have the best intention but sometimes life gets in the way so our mind drifts when we are in the company of our family. Unfinished business, money worries, a spat with a partner are the simple grist of life that can take our attention away.
The challenge for all of us is to be truly present when we are speaking with; playing with; reading with or just having fun with our kids.
My mental anchor to remind me not to allow my mind to wander is to tell myself that ‘my mind must be where my body is’.
What’s anchor will you use to make sure you stay present when you are in the company of your kids.
As Bruce Sullivan said in the opening keynote of our recent
Parenting Extravaganza we all have good intentions but we need to put those intentions into action if we are going to have great family relationships.
