Maggie Dent

Maggie Dent is an author, educator, and parenting and resilience specialist with a particular interest in the early years and adolescence. She is a passionate advocate for the healthy, commonsense raising of children in order to strengthen families and communities.
Maggie was a high-school teacher for 17 years before working as a counsellor with young people and their families, in suicide prevention and in palliative care.
Maggie is the proud mother of four adult sons and the author of five books, including: Saving Our Children from Our Chaotic World, Nurturing Kids’ Hearts and Souls, Real Kids in an Unreal World, Black Duck Wisdom, and Saving Our Adolescents

Maggie presents on a range of topics for parents, communities and educators from building resilience, being an excellent educator or understanding adolescence; to the basics of parenting, understanding boys, being a good dad, or grief and loss.
